BABERMAHAL REVISITED, a walk through, then and now
All the lands from Singa Durbar south to the banks of Bagmati River were covered by Rana palaces and gardens until 1970. Singha Durbar, the grand 1000 rooms palace of Maharaja Chandra Shumshere, was build in 1907:
"This little mall is one of my favorites in the city, as it offers a true French restaurant (Chez Carolines) and next to that is a great indian gift shop, and then there is Faces, a great place to get your hair done."
"This is an upscale shopping mall, but the renovation has provided a wonderful ambiance. The shops carry quality products (at a price!) and sales staff are courteous and helpful. And, don't miss having a meal--or in the least--coffee and cake at Che Caroline!"
"Located South-east of the city near the Singha Durbar government offices,Babar Mahal Revisited (BMR) is the unique complex that can be called Museum of Rana Architecture. Along with the Architecture you can get varieties of food with peace environment."
